RPO is the abbreviation for Recruitment Process Outsourcing and describes the partial or complete outsourcing of personnel recruitment processes to an external recruiting expert. These processes range from planning to sourcing, screening and selection to hiring.

The focus of RPO is not on filling a specific position quickly. Rather, it is about building up, expanding and optimizing recruiting within the company over the long term.

Recruitment process outsourcing is particularly popular in English-speaking countries. Study by Sineo However, demand is also growing in Germany and the trend in many companies is moving towards outsourcing when it comes to recruiting.

Is RPO right for my company?

Whether for startups, medium-sized businesses or large companies – RPO is particularly worthwhile in the following cases:

  1. If your company does not yet have a human resources department or only has a small one, but you plan to hire a lot of employees.
  2. If you are dissatisfied with your current recruiting success and would like to identify optimization potential with a fresh perspective from “outside”.
  3. If you are satisfied with your recruitment strategy but (temporarily) need more resources for operational implementation.
  4. If you need to fill key positions that are critical to your success and the expertise you have internally is not sufficient.
  5. If you have special measures such as Active Sourcing into your recruiting repertoire, but your HR department lacks the know-how and time to do so.

The benefits of recruitment process outsourcing

Your company can benefit from RPO in many different ways.

1. Concentrated know-how

Specialized providers rely on many years of experience as well as the latest processes and digital toolsto make the recruiting process as efficient as possible. The know-how is also reflected in the quality of personnel selection.

2.Save costs

RPO can be scaled and used on a project-by-project basis. This means that you only incur costs when a position actually needs to be filled. This saves you year-round salaries for employees and ongoing costs for applicant management software.

3.Cost transparency

All measures and the costs involved are discussed in detail with the provider. Everything is then clearly and transparently recorded in a contract.

4.Save time

RPO service providers are professionals in their field and the recruiting processes under their direction proceed quickly, meaning positions are filled quickly. Meanwhile, internal employees can concentrate on the core business and are kept up to date through regular reports.

5.Flexibility

The need for new staff fluctuates in many companies. You can only use an RPO provider when needed and increase its capacity as required. Most service providers can get started immediately after being commissioned without much lead time.

Please remember that all of these advantages will only be realized if you discuss things carefully with your RPO partner in advance. Close cooperation and an individual concept tailored to your needs lay the foundation for success.

There are various solutions for recruiting outsourcing.

For example, the end-to-end RPOThis is the complete package, so to speak, that covers all steps in the recruitment process from strategic planning to onboarding.

The Project RPO refers to a specific project. The end-to-end approach is applied here to a specific project framework, while ongoing employee recruitment can still be handled internally.

Also popular is the selective RPOHere, only sub-processes of internal recruitment are outsourced to external RPO managers. Companies often outsource recruitment processes, while more critical processes such as interviews and contract signing with candidates are kept internally.

At the Recruiting on Demand (ROD) The aim is for the service provider to immediately provide the company with additional recruiting capacity – for example for new business initiatives. Existing processes and systems are retained and the external Recruiting Consultants integrate themselves.
