Recruitment Funnel Effectiveness Definition

A recruiting funnel consists of several stages, from the job advertisement to the successful conclusion of the contract and onboarding of the new employee. There are various intermediate stages in between. The effectiveness of all of these stages can be measured - the corresponding KPI is called Recruiting Funnel Effectiveness.

How do you measure the KPI?

The success of each funnel stage is measured by how many candidates successfully completed that stage compared to the total number of applicants who started that stage.

Examples of Recruitment Funnel Effectiveness

Want some examples of how to measure the return ratio of a recruitment funnel stage? Here we go:

  • Application phase: 600 people apply, 100 CVs are reviewed by HR staff. The ratio is 6:1.
  • Interview/Contract offer: 8 guided Interview lead to 2 contract offers. 25% of the interviews therefore resulted in concrete job offers.

Conversion rates must be determined individually for each company. The best way to do this is to compare your own organization's figures with benchmarks from companies of a similar size.
